Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ALOE™ contract lifecycle management and project management software.
Contract Lifecycle Management
Does ALOE support the full contract lifecycle from creation through termination?
Yes. ALOE manages every stage of the contract lifecycle: intake and request, drafting, negotiation, review, approval routing, execution (including e-signatures via DocuSign), storage, performance monitoring, renewals, amendments, and termination. All stages are visible in one platform.
Does ALOE support electronic signatures?
Yes. ALOE integrates directly with DocuSign for electronic signatures. This allows contracts to be sent for signature and returned to ALOE without leaving the platform.
Does ALOE provide version control?
Yes. ALOE maintains version history for documents so teams can track changes over time, compare versions, and restore prior drafts when needed.
Can I automate routine contracts like NDAs?
Yes. ALOE supports automated workflows for routine contract types. You can build templates and intake flows that automatically route NDAs and other standard agreements through your approval process with minimal manual intervention.
Does ALOE enable automated alerts for contract milestones like renewals and expiration dates?
Yes. ALOE sends automated email alerts and workflow triggers based on any contract milestone — including renewal dates, expiration dates, payment schedules, volume thresholds, and custom date fields you define.
Can I amend or renew contracts in ALOE?
Yes. ALOE supports amendments and renewals. You can update contract terms, track changes, and notify relevant parties directly within the platform.
Document Storage
Does ALOE's document storage have OCR searchability?
Yes. ALOE uses OCR (optical character recognition) to make all stored documents fully text-searchable, including scanned PDFs and image-based files. You can search the full text of any document in your repository.
What file formats does ALOE support?
ALOE supports all common file formats including PDF, Word (.docx), Excel, and scanned image files. Related documents such as emails, faxes, and externally generated files can be attached to contract records.
Can we migrate our existing contracts into ALOE?
Yes. Bigfork Tech's implementation team can assist with migrating existing contracts and documents into ALOE. Migration support is included as part of the onboarding process.
Is there a file size limit or document volume limit?
ALOE is designed to handle large contract repositories without performance degradation or throttling. There are no monetary penalties for storage volume. Contact Bigfork Tech to discuss specific storage requirements for your organization.
Implementation & Training
What is included in implementation and how long does it take?
Implementation is handled directly by Bigfork Tech's in-house team — not a third-party vendor. The process includes system configuration, workflow setup, user training, and data migration support. Most organizations complete implementation in a matter of weeks rather than months.
Does ALOE provide training and onboarding support?
Yes. Training is included with implementation. Bigfork Tech provides hands-on onboarding to get your team self-sufficient on the platform. Additional training sessions are available as needed — for example, when onboarding new team members or adding new workflows.
Integrations
How does ALOE work with my existing software applications?
ALOE integrates with DocuSign for e-signatures, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) for document editing, and existing email platforms via its email integration feature. Intake forms can be shared with external parties who do not have ALOE accounts.
Does ALOE integrate with Microsoft Word and Office?
Yes. ALOE supports Microsoft Office integration, including Word for document editing and collaboration, and works with legacy Microsoft applications.
Reporting
Does ALOE provide role-based reporting and dashboards?
Yes. Reports in ALOE can be pulled by any user who has permission to view the relevant tasks and fields. Dashboards can display data as pie charts, bar graphs, lists, and more — tailored to each user's role and needs.
What types of reports can I run in ALOE?
ALOE supports reports on any field in the system, including contract status, assignee workload, contract type, time-on-status (how long a contract spent in each stage), renewal dates, and custom fields. Time-on-status reports are particularly useful for identifying bottlenecks in your approval process.
Can I save and share custom report queries?
Yes. Users can save custom search queries and reports, and make them available to other authorized users. This allows teams to standardize reporting across the department.
Privacy & Security
How does Bigfork Tech protect my data security and privacy?
ALOE is built with security as a core requirement. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to contracts and documents is controlled by role-based permissions, ensuring users only see data relevant to their role.
Does ALOE provide role-based access and permissions?
Yes. ALOE offers granular, personalized security settings. Administrators can assign different levels of access to different users or user groups, controlling which contracts, fields, forms, and reports each person can view or edit.
